Recital Sampler     14:24

On April 9th, 2007, I gave a solo senior percussion recital to complete my music performance degree.
I was able to get my qualified friend Ben Sholl to record the evening. For other credits and specifics,
please see the actual Recital Program. The sampler is one track and about 15 minutes in length. I hope
you can enjoy the whole track, but I've also included notes indicating where in the track each excerpt begins.
Thanks again to everyone involved with the show!

Psychoshifter 7:04

Tim and I took my composition for my senior recital into the studio and came out with a new version.
Tim plays acoustic drumset, I play marimba (bowed and with mallets), and the rest is Tim magic.
We used no loops. The concept is based on Steve Reich's Piano Phase, which I performed in an
earlier recital. I really liked the piece and decided to create my own version, where the melody
phases full circle and each new match up is celebrated with Drum and Bass.

Footprints

This is my group The Actual Quintet doing an arrangement of Wayne Shorter's Footprints. Please visit www.myspace.com/actualproofband to check us out.

Elegba (Eleggua) - the owner of the roads and doors in this world. He stands at the crossroads of humanity and the divine, the intermediary between Olorun and the Orisha and humans. When one wants to pray, they call on Elegba first, as he opens the doors of communication between this world and the Orisha.

Nothing can be done in either world without his permission. The Catholic saint he represents is Saint Anthony. His colors are red and black and his number is 3.
